Though the schooner When and If has sailed many miles, she's a Mainer through and through. Commissioned by General George Patton in Wiscasset in 1939, she was designed by the legendary John G. Alden and built by F.F. Pendleton for the purpose of sailing around the world. She's coming back into our waters in 2017 to take part in Rendezvous 2017, the largest gathering of tall ships on the East Coast since the year 2000!

Tall Ships Portland and When and If have teamed up to offer Maine teens two different voyages in the month of July. The first voyage will start in Port Hawkesbury in Nova Scotia, and transit across to the stunning Carelton-sur-Mer in New Brunswick.  The second voyage will start in Carelton-sur-Mer and travel up and into the mouth of the St. Lawrence to the town of Rimouski. The organized dates allow all students to participate in the tall ships festivals taking place at departure and arrival ports. BOTH TRIPS REQUIRE A VALID PASSPORT.  If you choose to utilize the TSP-provided transport both to and from the vessel, all meals will be provided for students while on the road.

With a professionally trained crew and an educational program designed in conjunction with Tall Ships Portland, you'll see some of the most beautiful coastline in the world in the Canadian Maritimes while you learn to sail this historic schooner- and with the offer of FREE HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT through Falmouth High School, it will be the best course you've ever taken!

VOYAGE 1: July 1 - 8     $1250 per student w/ own transport, $1400 per student w/ TSP-provided transport

VOYAGE 2: July 8 - 15    $1250 per student w/ own transport, $1400 per student w/ TSP-provided transport
